About Me

All About Me

For the past 6 years, I have been teaching math, both at the junior high and high school level. I have a love for learning, which is why I am pursing my Master’s degree in Information and Learning Technologies at the University of Colorado Denver.

I am originally from Illinois and grew up in the suburbs of Chicago. After high school, I continued my education at Illinois College in Jacksonville, IL. At Illinois College, I earned my Bachelor’s in Mathematics with an emphasis in 6-12 teaching.

I started my teaching career in Illinois for 3 years before making the move out of the Midwest. After securing a high school math teaching position in Colorado, I moved to Denver in 2013, and haven’t looked back since (sorry Mom).   In my first 6 years of teaching, I have discovered that I have a love for sharing my math expertise with young adults. But it is more than the math, I want each of my students to leave my class being a better problem solver by using their skills of logic and reason to attack any problem life throws at them.

Outside of work, I’m always up for an adventure and am constantly looking for a new one. When school is out, you will find me climbing one of Colorado’s many peaks, snowboarding through the trees at Copper, or traveling to see beautiful places around the world. I’m thankful for the opportunities in my life and keep adding new adventures to my bucket list.
